¹⁴ In the same way, it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

¹⁸ For I know that in myself (that is, in my flesh,) no good thing dwells: for to desire what is right is present within me; but to perform what is right, this I cannot do. ¹⁹ For I do not do the good that I want: but the evil which I do not want, that is what I do. ²⁰ Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin which dwells in me. ²¹ So I find this law at work, that when I want to do good, evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the law of God in my inner man: ²³ But I see another law in the members of my body, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from this body of death?

¹⁷ If any man is willing to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness: for we do not know how to pray as we ought: but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. ²⁷ And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

² And do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good, and acceptable, and perfect.
